Angela is a native of Dublin, Ireland. She grew up in the working-class
neighborhood of Sallynoggin, Dun Laoghaire. She moved to the United States and
Vermont in 1977 and has since earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English
from the University of Vermont and an MFA in Writing from Vermont College.
Author of Still Listening (Salmon Press, 1999), she is included in The White
Page/An Bhileog Bhan: Twentieth Century Irish Women Poets (Salmon, 1999), and
her work is also featured in Onion River: Six Vermont Poets (RNM Inc., 1997).
Her poems and essays have appeared in literary journals including The Literary
Review; Prairie Schooner; Michigan Quarterly Review; Calyx, Full Circle
Journal, and many others.
She has presented readings in Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and
throughout Vermont and New England. She teaches poetry writing in person and
online for the University of Vermont and is Development Director for
Burlington City Arts.
